Documenta 13's Curatorial Approach Emphasizes Temporal Interconnectedness and Historical Reflection

Running from June 9 to September 16, 2012, Documenta 13 took place in Kassel, Kabul, Alexandria/Cairo, and Banff, without a unifying theme, as noted by artistic director Carolyn Christov-Bakargiev. The event focused on the interplay of human and natural time, featuring pieces such as Carol Bove's petrified wood and the proposed transport of the El Chaco meteorite by Guillermo Faivovich and Nicolás Goldberg. In Kabul, Mario Garcia Torres engaged with Alighiero Boetti's One Hotel and transported Boetti's Mappa to Kassel.
