The documentary 'The Museum' (2020), directed by Olivier Bourgeois and produced by the Directorate-General of Antiquities & Museums (DGAM Syria), tells the story of the emergency evacuation of the National Museum of Aleppo's collections in 2011. Under the threat of bombs and missiles, archaeologists, conservators, and guards worked day and night to save Syria's material historical heritage, ultimately transferring nearly 30,000 artifacts. In 2018, with the help of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP Syria), the museum was able to reopen its doors. The film recounts this risky and complex operation.
