Do Disturb 2019: Palais de Tokyo's Performance Festival Returns with Italian Presence

Do Disturb, the performance festival at Palais de Tokyo, returns from April 12 to 14, 2019, curated by Vittoria Matarrese. The festival features a network of seven international partner institutions: Triangle France (Marseille), BAR Project (Barcelona), Gasworks (London), Centre Wallonie Bruxelles (Paris), Watermill Center (New York), Centre National de la Danse (Pantin), and Centrale Fies, with musical project Boiler Room. A key novelty is La Manutention, a new residency space within the museum offering artists a month-long stay with public openings. Italian artists include Dewey Dell, I figli di Marla, and Jacopo Jenna, selected by Centrale Fies. The festival also introduces immersive static spaces by Reza Mirabi, Hoël Duret / Tanguy Malik Bordage, and Melanie Bonajo. Political engagement continues with gender-focused works by Mercedes Dassy, Melanie Bonajo, and Victoria Sin. Boiler Room's 4:3 platform curates film screenings and a night event, DO DISTURB BY NIGHT, on April 13 featuring Brooke Candy. The festival emphasizes process over product, reflecting Palais de Tokyo's new vocation.
