Dmitry Ligay's Psychological Illustrations Explore Mental Ecology in a Saturated World

Dmitry Ligay, an illustrator hailing from Tashkent, Uzbekistan, explores the psychological effects of modern overconsumption and information saturation. He completed his studies at the Tashkent Architecture and Civil Engineering Institute in 2007, which provided him with a methodical approach to composition. Since 2010, he has partnered with Moscow's Bang! Bang! studio, serving clients such as GQ, Men's Health, Rolling Stone, Snob, Yandex, Leo Burnett, and BBDO throughout Russia and Asia. Since 2020, he has emphasized independent artistic pursuits alongside commercial work in cities like Moscow and London. Ligay combines traditional media—like pencil, watercolor, and acrylic—with digital techniques in Photoshop, creating hybrid artworks that reflect on themes of autonomy, external influence, and mental clarity. His recent pieces feature ample white space and carefully chosen color schemes, including vibrant reds, neon greens, muted greys, and gold accents, promoting visual detox and moments of reflection.
