DMAV collective deconstructs corporate jargon as 'pornography' in new project
The Italian social art collective DMAV – Dalla Maschera al Volto has launched 'Corporate Porn', a project investigating power dynamics in corporate language through visual works, prints, video installations, and performances across Turin, Roncade, and Padua. The collective critiques the paradoxical and often incomprehensible jargon used by management, which they liken to pornography for its exhibitionist and domineering qualities. In an interview, Alessandro Rinaldi of DMAV recounts how the project was sparked by encounters with absurd corporate phrases like 'business process ingenue' and requests to 'forwardami tutto'. The collective deconstructs acronyms such as HR (reinterpreted as 'Human Remorses'), DEI ('Diversity, Equity and Illusion'), CSR ('Cosmetic Sustainability Report'), and FYI ('Fuck Your Ideas'), exposing the gap between rhetoric and reality. They collaborate with Decentral and Corporate Rebels, organizations advocating for decentralized power and meaningful work. Rinaldi warns that without critical thinking, AI could amplify 'corporate porn', leading to an unsustainable hypertrophy of meaningless organizational content.
