DMA Names 21 Recipients for 2026 Awards to Artists
The Dallas Museum of Art (DMA) has revealed the 21 winners for its 2026 Awards to Artists, selected from an impressive 160 applicants. Over $42,000 in grants will be awarded to Texas artists aged 16 to 55, with 16 of them hailing from the Dallas-Fort Worth area. A public celebration is set for May 19, 2026, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the DMA, featuring a presentation in Horchow Auditorium followed by a reception in Hamon Atrium. Dr. Valerie Bennett Gillespie, the guest juror and founder of Pencil on Paper Gallery, praised the remarkable talent and the tough selection process. Awards include the Clare Hart DeGolyer Memorial Fund and the Otis and Velma Davis Dozier Travel Grant, among others.
