DJI Osmo Pocket 4P Review: Impressive Image Quality but Frustrating Interface

The DJI Osmo Pocket 4P, a compact gimbal camera, offers outstanding image quality with its main camera featuring LOFIC sensor technology and advertised 17 stops of dynamic range, though testing showed it falls short of that claim. The camera includes a telephoto lens with a 60mm equivalent field of view, but its smaller sensor lacks LOFIC, resulting in significantly worse dynamic range. The interface for using log profiles is cumbersome, requiring menu diving to switch between lenses and profiles, and lacking on-camera histogram or waveform tools. The Pocket 4P can record 4K Log footage up to 60p and slow motion up to 240p on the main camera. It has 103GB internal storage, a microSD slot, and supports wireless microphones. The camera is banned in the USA due to DJI restrictions. Alternatives include the Insta360 Luna Ultra and the older Pocket 4. Despite interface frustrations, the Pocket 4P is recommended for its image quality.
