Divario Opens in Rome’s Prati District as a Multidisciplinary Art Space
A new art space called Divario has opened in Rome's Prati district, near St. Peter's Basilica, at via Famagosta. Conceived by Roman architect Filippo Tranquilli, it is not a traditional gallery but a multidisciplinary venue for drawing, illustration, architecture, design, sculpture, and painting. The space occupies the ground floor of a late-19th-century building with 5-meter-high ceilings, divided by a mezzanine into an exhibition area and an upper office. Divario aims to investigate reality's complexity and explore contemporary multiplicity, free from market rules and ordinary circuits. It relies on a network of external collaborators and offers space, visibility, logistics, promotion, and consultancy. The inaugural exhibition, (in) Land, runs from November 23, 2019, to January 25, 2020, featuring ten intimate photographs by Simone Bossi, an acclaimed young architecture photographer. Future programming includes a street artist duo and a Romanian painter working between Cluj-Napoca and Italy.
