Diva Futura Film Chronicles Cicciolina and Moana Pozzi's Agency

Giulia Louise Steigerwalt's film "Diva Futura" premiered at the 2024 Venice Film Festival, starring Pietro Castellitto and Barbara Ronchi. The comedy-drama explores Riccardo Schicchi's agency Diva Futura, which revolutionized Italian mass culture in the 1980s-90s by transforming hippie free-love ideals into the porn industry. The film adopts the perspective of secretary Debora, then inverts it to show the contradictions of the cultural revolution. Steigerwalt aimed to blend playfulness and tragedy, highlighting the sincere intentions behind the "cialtroneria" (cheapness). The agency turned "girls next door" like Ilona Staller (Cicciolina), Moana Pozzi, and Eva Henger into global porn stars, coining the term "pornostar" amid the boom of private TV and VHS. The film addresses moral, human, and media impacts, depicting jealousy, torment, and contradictions within the Diva Futura family. It will be released in Italian cinemas on February 6, 2025, by PiperFilm.
