Disturbing Narratives Exhibition Opens at Parkview Museum Singapore
The Parkview Museum in Singapore, a private museum spanning 1,500 square meters, has opened its third major thematic exhibition, "Disturbing Narratives," curated by museum director Lorand Hegyi. Following previous shows "The Artist's Voice" on prophetic vision and "Intriguing Uncertainties" on the unconscious, this exhibition explores disturbing sensations such as fear, uncertainty, irrationality, paranoia, and disorientation hidden beneath everyday life. Featuring 30 artists from Europe, Asia, Africa, North America, and South America, the show employs diverse media including painting, sculpture, drawing, photography, video, and installation. Notable international artists include Urs Lüthi, Hermann Nitsch, Orlan, William Kentridge, and Candice Breitz, alongside four Italians: Guglielmo Castelli, Andrea Fogli, Daniele Galliano, and Paolo Grassino. Organizers state that the works manifest hope and empathy, the liberating power of consciousness of the real, and the enthusiastic value of truth, with unsettling images functioning as liberation leading back to oneself. The exhibition runs from June 27, 2019, to February 8, 2020, at Parkview Square, 600 North Bridge Road, Level 3, Singapore.
