Disney Reveals Trailer and Cast for Mufasa: The Lion King Live-Action Prequel

Disney has released the first trailer, poster, and images for Mufasa: The Lion King, a live-action prequel arriving in Italian theaters on December 19, 2024. The film explores the rise of the beloved king of the Pride Lands, told through flashbacks narrated by Rafiki to young cub Kiara, daughter of Simba and Nala, with Timon and Pumbaa providing their characteristic commentary. The story follows Mufasa, an orphaned cub lost and alone until he meets a sympathetic lion named Taka, heir to a royal bloodline. Their chance encounter sets off a journey of a remarkable group of misfits seeking their destiny, as their bonds are tested while they work together to escape a threatening and deadly enemy. The voice cast includes Aaron Pierre as Mufasa, Tiffany Boone as Sarabi, Kagiso Lediga as young Rafiki, Preston Nyman as Zazu, Mads Mikkelsen as Kiros, Donald Glover as Simba, Blue Ivy Carter as Kiara, and Beyoncé Knowles-Carter as Nala.
