Dislocations: Art in Exile at Palais de Tokyo

exhibition · 2026-04-23

The exhibition 'Dislocations' at Palais de Tokyo showcases the works of fifteen artists from Afghanistan, France, Iraq, Iran, Lebanon, Libya, Myanmar, Palestine, Syria, and Ukraine, all influenced by themes of exile and displacement. Curated by Marie-Laure Bernadac and Daria de Beauvais, this event is organized in partnership with the nonprofit Portes ouvertes sur l’art, which aids artists in exile. The exhibition explores fragmented stories that merge traditional skills with modern technologies, focusing on issues such as displacement, imprisonment, war, resilience, and reparation. A companion publication, edited by Palais Books, is released by Portes ouvertes sur l’art with support from La Petite Escalère, Fairouz Chaarani, and the Fondation Antoine de Galbert. Notably, a previous collaboration in 2022 led to the screening program 'L’ami intérieur.' Featured artists include Majd Abdel Hamid, Rada Akbar, and others.
