Discovery Art Fair Expands to Frankfurt with Affordable Contemporary Art
The Discovery Art Fair will launch in Frankfurt from November 2 to 4, 2018, at the Forum exhibition hall in the Messe Frankfurt complex, marking the third location for the fair after Berlin and Cologne. The event targets emerging contemporary art with accessible prices, averaging €1,500 to €3,000 per work, following the model of the Affordable Art Fair. Director Jürgen Golz stated that the fair offers a platform not only for galleries but also for individual artists, with a curated selection of about 80 exhibitors, half from abroad, across 2,000 square meters divided into contemporary art, photography, and urban art sections. The Berliner Liste (15 years) and Kölner Liste (5 years) have attracted 20,000 visitors annually, and Frankfurt, with its 60 museums and 2 million yearly visitors, was chosen for its economic and cultural standing. Applications close at the end of July.
