Dior and Rome Opera Ballet Present 'Nuit Romaine' at Palazzo Farnese
For International Dance Day on April 29, Dior and the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma, in association with the French Embassy in Italy, premiered the film 'Nuit Romaine'. Choreographed by Angelin Preljocaj, the ballet stars Eleonora Abbagnato and Friedemann Vogel with the Rome Opera Ballet corps. Costumes were designed by Dior creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri. Filmed at Palazzo Farnese in Rome, the project was conceived during lockdown when cultural venues were closed. The film follows the goddess Nox (Abbagnato) animating the palace's marbles, tapestries, and frescoes into a collective dance within the Dado Farnese, one of Rome's four wonders. At dawn, everything returns to its place, leaving a lasting impression.
