DIMORESTUDIO designs luxury retail space Lagrange12 in Turin
Lagrange12, a new multibrand luxury fashion store, has opened in central Turin. The project is part of a residential conversion of a historic 17th-century building, overseen by the Building group (known for The Number 6, winner of ArchDaily's Building of the Year award). The interior design was executed by DIMORESTUDIO, a Milanese design firm currently presenting its Verande residential project at Art Basel's Design Miami section under Design at Large. DIMORESTUDIO designed three ground-floor environments and the entire first floor, blending luxury with Art Deco influences. Heritage 1950s furnishings coexist with new pieces created specifically for the Turin space. The designers Britt Moran and Emiliano Salci cited inspiration from Italian 1930s and 1940s taste, reinterpreted contemporarily. Notable site-specific elements include modular hanging structures in black painted iron with polished steel gaps, inspired by Oscar Tuazon's environmental sculptures and Louise Bourgeois's monumental spiders. Heritage items include Lambda lamps by Vico Magistretti, Euterpe lamps by BBPR, floor and table lamps by Stilnuovo, an original 1950s LC4 chaise longue by Le Corbusier, Charlotte Perriand, and Pierre Jeanneret, and armchairs by Giò Ponti and Paolo Buffa.
