DimoreDesign launches online edition with 19+1 Italian designers

The online edition of DimoreDesign launched on June 19, 2020, featuring a virtual narrative that revisits installations by 19+1 Italian designers selected from over forty participants in the Designers for Bergamo project between 2011 and 2019. The initiative connects Bergamo's historic palaces with contemporary creativity, aiming to promote the city's cultural heritage after it was severely impacted by Covid-19. The first episode focused on Alessandro Mendini's 2013 installation at Palazzo Moroni, where his 'raft' floated on a marble floor carrying symbolic objects. Curated by Giacinto Di Pietrantonio, the weekly episodes will run until October 30, 2020, on the DimoreDesign website. Future interviews include Stefano Giovannoni at Palazzo Agliardi (July 17), Riccardo Blumer (July 24), and Aldo Cibic (July 31) at Palazzo Moroni. Designer Anna Gili, who 'invaded' Villa Grismondi Finardi in 2013 with animal-inspired works, expressed hope to repopulate these enchanted places soon. The project is supported by CNAPPC, OAB Bergamo, GAMeC, Accademia Carrara, Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera, IED, ADI, and Superstudio. Participants include Paola Navone, Rosa Maria Rinaldi, Fabio Novembre, Franco Raggi, Italo Rota, Alessandro Guerriero, FormaFantasma, Luigi Baroli, and Giulio Iacchetti.
