Dilmos Gallery presents Mimesis exhibition at Milan Design Week 2026 featuring Onno Adriaanse and Valeria Vaccaro

During Milan Design Week 2026, Dilmos gallery unveiled Mimesis, an exhibition exploring nature's translation into design objects. Dutch designer Onno Adriaanse and Italian artist Valeria Vaccaro each created original collections for the show, engaging with the concept of mimesis to interpret natural complexity poetically. Adriaanse's Hedera collection draws from climbing plants, producing wooden furniture and lighting that incorporate glass, evoking continuous growth within domestic spaces. Vaccaro's Ossimoro marks her shift from art to design, using marble treated with inks and pigments to mimic wood, creating mirrors, shelves, and tables that challenge perception. The immersive installation by Verderame features seven botanical sculptures with metal structures and vegetation, blending natural and built environments. This display reinforces Dilmos's curatorial focus on material exploration and authorship, positioning design as a cultural practice. The exhibition highlights how design can expand our perception of matter through sensitivity and experimentation. Milan Design Week 2026 served as the venue for this presentation.
