Digital Dada: Link Art Center's Dadaclub.online Goes Physical in Brescia

exhibition · 2026-05-05

The Link Art Center invited contemporary artists to remix digital copies of historical Dada works for the centenary of the movement, which began on February 5, 1916, with the opening of Cabaret Voltaire in Zurich. Over a year, 148 works were published on Dadaclub.online, including drawings, photographs, collages, magazines, 3D scans, websites, videos, software, and animated GIFs. Now that the online project has concluded, an exhibition at Spazio Contemporanea in Brescia from March 25 to April 15 will display all contributions alongside original Dada pieces from the Collezione Campiani, also based in Brescia. The installation groups new works around their sources of inspiration, including Man Ray, Marcel Duchamp, Paul Citroen, Lázló Moholy-Nagy, Hans Richter, and Hannah Höch, making the relationships between originals and homages evident.
