Digital artist Svccy brings NFT aesthetics to Verdi and Bellini operas

artist · 2026-04-26

Matteo Succi, known as Svccy, is a 27-year-old Italian digital artist from Ravenna who began his training in 2016 focusing on digital collage art and 3D graphics. His work explores identity, social decay, and illusory freedom in the media age, featuring faceless or obscured human figures. In 2023, he was selected to create digital backdrops for Vincenzo Bellini's Norma and Giuseppe Verdi's Nabucco during the Trilogia d'autunno at Ravenna Festival, directed by Riccardo Muti, merging digital art with classical opera. In January 2023, he participated in Dystopian Constructions at W1 Curates in London, curated by Zanini Arte, featuring an immersive installation. That spring, he exhibited at Shibuya, Tokyo with Neo Shibuya TV and at Milan's Digital Art Week. In 2024, he was featured at London Digital Art Week and on over 1,000 screens in Belgium via Artcrush Gallery and Clear Channel Belgium. He also collaborated with The Venetian Resort Las Vegas on animated works. Svccy contrasts his art with social media influencers, stating his work creates a 'necessary disturbance' to awaken viewers from numbness.
