Diffuse exhibition 'Dove finiscono le tracce' opens in Turin during Artissima

exhibition · 2026-04-27

During Artissima 2023, the Fondazione per l’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea CRT presents the diffuse exhibition 'Dove finiscono le tracce' across five historic venues in Turin’s city center. Curated by Artissima, the show features five works from the CRT collection, which comprises over 900 pieces by more than 300 artists valued at approximately €40 million. The selected works were acquired at Artissima 2022. At Palazzo Perrone di San Martino, Francesco Gennari’s 'Contrazione della metafisica n.2' (2007) explores marble’s material density. At Teatro Carignano, William Kentridge’s hand-embroidered wool tapestry 'City of Moscow' layers symbolic, political, and historical references. In the courtyard of the Museo Nazionale del Risorgimento, Cally Spooner’s sound installation 'Soundtrack for a Troubled Time' (2017) critiques elite and political imaginaries. At Palazzo Madama, Peter Friedl’s 'Failed States' (2011) comprises twenty sewn flags made by inmates of Le Vallette prison, questioning geopolitical power structures. At Teatro Regio, Simon Starling’s digital film 'Four Thousand Seven Hundred and Twenty Five (Motion Control / Mollino)' (2007) pays tribute to Carlo Mollino’s iconic 1959 chair through multi-angle footage.
