Dieter Roth Exhibition at MoMA QNS and P.S.1, New Book from Siglio

exhibition · 2026-04-23

A major exhibition of Dieter Roth's work opened simultaneously at MoMA QNS and P.S.1 Contemporary Art Center in Long Island City, Queens, running from March 12 to June 7, 2004. The Swiss-German artist, who lived from 1930 to 1998, was celebrated for his multidisciplinary practice that blurred distinctions between art and life. Concurrently, Siglio published a new book collecting Roth's intimate and provocative drawings. His gallery also occupied the former Roxy roller rink disco space. Other New York shows mentioned include "Miracle in the Scrap Heap: The Sculpture of Richard Stankiewicz" at the AXA Gallery until September 25 and a group exhibition featuring Rachel Harrison, Hirsch Perlman, Jack Smith, and Rebecca Warren at Matthew Marks Gallery until September 13.
