Diego Marcon's First NY Solo Show at New Museum
From September 24, 2026, to January 31, 2027, the New Museum will host "Diego Marcon: Arrivederci, Piggies!", marking the Italian artist's inaugural solo show in a New York institution. This exhibition showcases four films within an immersive setting that delves into themes of childhood, family, and the uncanny. At its core is the newly commissioned film "Krapfen," which investigates the dynamics between children and their families using human choreography and green-screen CGI. Named after an Austrian jam doughnut, "Krapfen" is the first project funded by the New Futures Production Fund, a partnership involving Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, Lafayette Anticipations, the Renaissance Society, and the Vega Foundation. The exhibition is curated by Massimiliano Gioni and Madeline Weisburg and features a fully illustrated catalogue.
