Diego Marcon's first New York museum solo show at New Museum
Diego Marcon, born in 1985 in Busto Arsizio, Italy, and currently residing in Lombardy, will present his inaugural solo exhibition at a New York museum, titled Arrivederci, Piggies!, at the New Museum from September 24, 2026, to January 31, 2027. This exhibition features four of Marcon's pivotal films in a comprehensive installation, including a newly commissioned piece called Krapfen. His artistic approach to moving images and installations draws from horror, slapstick, and cartoons, challenging traditional cinematic conventions and societal views on family and childhood. In Krapfen, human movement intertwines with green-screen CGI, depicting a child's connection to their family through levitating garments, while the soundtrack incessantly repeats the term "Krapfen," a nod to an Austrian jam doughnut, in a cheerful yet eerie melody.
