Diana Weymar's Tiny Pricks Project collects embroidered fabric pieces featuring Donald Trump's social media quotes. The project began on January 8, 2018, with the phrase 'I'm a very stable genius' and has since grown to 1,100 fragments, aiming for 2,020 by 2020. Weymar runs an Instagram account showcasing the works, which have been featured by The New Yorker and The New York Times. An exhibition is on view at Lingua Franca, a store at 382 Bleeker Street in New York's West Village, through September 30. The store's founder, Rachelle Hruska MacPherson, also embroiders on cashmere sweaters, leading to the collaboration. Weymar encourages participation by forming discussion groups, donating vintage fabric, or creating and mailing pieces inspired by Trump tweets. She expressed interest in receiving embroidered quotes in Italian, discussing the impact of Trump's politics abroad. The project's motto is 'In desperate times, creativity is a solution.'
