Diana Cooper and Lee Boroson present site-specific works in Fordham University exhibition curated by Carleen Sheehan

exhibition · 2026-04-22

From February 22 to March 31, 2017, the Ildiko Butler Gallery at Fordham University's Lincoln Center campus hosted 'Prismatic Shifts,' featuring Diana Cooper and Lee Boroson. Curated by Carleen Sheehan, this exhibition highlighted both artists' inventive approaches to installation, with Cooper presenting her first video work alongside a reworked wall piece from 2010. Boroson displayed several 2017 works including 'Ruderal Object' and 'Clear Cut,' which incorporated natural materials like maple twigs and cut logs with synthetic elements. His site-specific installation 'Breach' used sewn velvet strips cascading from a high gallery window. Cooper's untitled 9-minute video from 2016-17 transformed footage of escalators into mesmerizing patterns through repetition and mirroring. Both artists engaged with institutional architecture, with Cooper exploring surveillance themes and Boroson addressing climate change through material transformations. The exhibition was located at 113 West 60th Street at Columbus Avenue in New York.
