Diana Baldon to Lead New Modena Visual Arts Foundation

Diana Baldon, an Italian art historian and curator based in Copenhagen, has been appointed Director of Fondazione Modena Arti Visive. This new institution consolidates three major Modena cultural organizations: Galleria Civica di Modena, Fondazione Fotografia Modena, and Museo della Figurina. Baldon currently directs Fondazione Fotografia Modena. From 2011 to 2016, she led Malmö Konsthall and Index – The Swedish Contemporary Art Foundation, where she organized solo shows for artists including Nina Beier, Joan Jonas, Goshka Macuga, Ad Reinhardt, Lili Reynaud-Dewar, and Heimo Zobernig. Earlier, between 2007 and 2011, she served as Curator-in-Residence and on the artistic teaching staff at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. Her critical writings have appeared in publications such as Artforum, Texte zur Kunst, and Afterall. The foundation was established by the City of Modena and the private philanthropic organization Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Modena.
