Diamond and Dorfman Explore Surrogate Love at Fondazione Prada Osservatorio

The exhibition 'Surrogati: un amore ideale' at Fondazione Prada's Osservatorio in Milan presents photographs by Jamie Diamond and Elena Dorfman that examine surrogate love through hyperrealistic silicone dolls. Curated by Melissa Harris, the show features 42 works. Diamond's series 'Forever Mothers' (2012-18) and 'Nine Months of Reborning' (2014) document Reborners—women who create and care for lifelike plastic baby dolls as a way to fulfill maternal desires. In 'I promise to be a Good Mother' (2012), Diamond photographs herself with a doll named Annabelle in everyday settings. Dorfman's series 'Still Lovers' (2001-04) captures men in intimate relationships with life-sized silicone sex dolls that become companions. The exhibition runs at Osservatorio Fondazione Prada, Milan.
