Dhanie & Sal Transform Jakarta House into Yoga and Coffee Hub

architecture-design · 2026-06-02

In 2025, architects Dhanie Syawalia and Salman Rimaldhi from Dhanie & Sal transformed a house in Kecamatan Kebayoran Baru, Indonesia, into a multifunctional venue for Houm Yoga and Houm Coffee. The renovation spans 951 m² and was overseen by Miwa Negoro, with contributions from Irwansyah Sutaryo and Vania Sabrina Dara. The design emphasizes a minimalist approach, preserving the original structure while implementing only essential changes. Instead of a complete overhaul, the project thoughtfully balances alteration and preservation, determining which aspects to redefine and which to leave intact. The existing architecture is embraced, allowing the new functions to integrate seamlessly. Ernest Theofilus captured the project in photographs.
