Dhaka Art Summit 2023 Announces 120+ Artists and Climate Theme 'Bonna'

The sixth Dhaka Art Summit, named 'Bonna,' is set to take place from 3 to 11 February 2023 at the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, as announced by the Samdani Art Foundation. This event will showcase over 120 artists from both local and international backgrounds, featuring notable figures such as Rana Begum, Bhasha Chakrabarti, and Antony Gormley. Chief Curator Diana Campbell emphasized the significance of the summit's Bangla title, which seeks to provide deeper insights into Bangladeshi culture. Guest curators include Sean Anderson and Bishwajit Goswami. New works will be presented, including Rithika Merchant's 'Transtidal' and a photographic series by Kashef Chowdhury. Sixty percent of the participants are Bangladeshi artists. The summit will also highlight Amitav Ghosh's 'Jungle Nama' and the Samdani Art Award, featuring 12 emerging talents. Nadia Samdani MBE expressed her enthusiasm for the summit's revival.
