Dezeen Awards 2026: Winners cite global visibility and transformative impact

award · 2026-05-20

With just one week remaining until the deadline for entries for Dezeen Awards 2026, previous recipients highlight the honor as a pivotal achievement that enhances global recognition beyond conventional design realms. Kazuhiro Yamanaka, a Japanese designer whose Tsubomi lamp series earned the title of Lighting Design of the Year in 2025, remarked that the accolade initiated fresh dialogues and opportunities across various sectors and nations. L Architects from Singapore, awarded for Residential Interior (Small) of the Year for In a Park, described the accolade as a significant milestone that broadened their reach to international audiences. Lim Shing Hui, the principal architect, emphasized that entry fees based on firm size ensure fairness for smaller firms. Balinese firm Pablo Luna Studio, whose Intaaya Retreat was honored as Sustainable Building of the Year, found the victory profoundly significant, appreciating the chance to engage with global architects and designers. Last year’s sold-out event in London attracted over 500 architects and designers from countries including Australia, Japan, and the USA. The 2026 awards encompass 49 categories in architecture, interiors, and design, with the submission deadline set for 23:59 London time on 27 May. This ninth edition is in collaboration with global tech giant Trimble.
