Deutsche Börse Photography Foundation Prize 2026 Shortlist Announced with Four Artists

The Deutsche Börse Photography Foundation Prize for 2026 has shortlisted four photographers: Amak Mahmoodian, Jane Evelyn Atwood, Rene Matić, and Weronika Gęsicka. The winner, to be revealed on 14 May 2026, will receive £30,000, while each finalist is awarded £5,000. Their works delve into topics such as exile, memory, gender disparity, and the nature of photographic reality. Matić's AS OPPOSED TO THE TRUTH was exhibited at CCA Berlin from November 2024 to February 2025. Mahmoodian's One Hundred and Twenty Minutes features in the 2024 Bristol Photo Festival. Atwood's Too Much Time focuses on women in prison during the 1990s, and Gęsicka's Encyclopaedia challenges truth through altered images. An exhibition is scheduled at The Photographers' Gallery from 6 March to 7 June 2026, followed by Deutsche Börse from 3 September 2026 to 17 January 2027.
