Deutsche Börse Photography Foundation Prize 2021 shortlist features four artists exploring global upheavals
The Deutsche Börse Photography Foundation Prize 2021 has shortlisted four photographers: Poulomi Basu, Alejandro Cartagena, Cao Fei, and Zineb Sedira. This award, celebrating its 25th anniversary, honors outstanding achievements in photography. Their works will be displayed at The Photographers’ Gallery in London from 19 March to 27 June 2021, under the curation of Anna Dannemann. The winner, who will receive GBP£30,000, is set to be revealed in Spring 2021. The jury comprises Cristina de Middel, Simon Njami, Anna Tellgren, Anne-Marie Beckmann, and Brett Rogers, serving as a non-voting chair. Basu's entry is Centralia (2020), Cartagena’s is A Small Guide to Homeownership (2020), Cao Fei presents Blueprints (2020), and Sedira showcases A Brief Moment (2019). Mohamed Bourouissa won the prize in 2020.
