Designer's Dream: Slide Art Collection Auction at Superstudio Più
In the early 2010s, Giuseppe Colonna Romano, the creator of the design firm Slide, commissioned unique artistic pieces from prominent designers and artists, which were produced in limited runs using industrial methods. Following his passing in November 2023, his son Marco and close friend Gisella Borioli arranged an exhibition and charity auction featuring sixteen sculptures from the Slide Art collection. The event, titled Designer's Dream, is scheduled to take place from January 24 to 30 at Superstudio Più in Milan, with the auction occurring on January 30 at 6 PM, facilitated by Christie's without a buyer's premium. Proceeds will support MuseoCity, a nonprofit that oversees over 100 museums in Milan. Featured artists include Alessandro Mendini, Alessandro Guerriero, Denis Santachiara, Marco Acerbis, and Giò Colonna Romano, among others, with some pieces previously shown at the 54th Venice Biennale in 2011.
