Designer Couple's Playful Wedding at NYC's Russian Tea Room

Julia Eshaghpour and Kevin Hollidge, founders of decorative arts studio Sunfish, married on May 30, 2026, at the Russian Tea Room in New York City. The couple, who met in 2014 at Macalester College in Saint Paul, Minnesota, chose the iconic Midtown venue for its distinctive interiors, which they felt would tell a story. Their wedding blended Jewish and Persian traditions, breaking conventional rules such as holding the cocktail hour before the ceremony and serving shrimp. Julia wore a dress by House of Gilles, a vintage beaded cape from Vague Atelier, and a vintage flapper-inspired dress from Morphew World, accessorized with Aquazzura sandals and heirloom jewelry. Kevin wore a bespoke tuxedo by Martin Greenfield. The ceremony, led by their college rabbi, featured personalized seven blessings and music by Yuto Kanazawa on Spanish guitar. The reception included a hora, first dance to Arthur Russell's 'Love is Over Taking Me,' and a late-night cake cutting with rose petals. The wedding was planned by Layne Kula of Penny Layne, with catering by Lev and floral design by Studio Jones.
