Design Stack's 080 Lounge reimagines airport interiors as curated neighbourhoods
At Bengaluru International Airport's Terminal 2, Design Stack has finalized the 080 Lounge, which spans over 40,000 sq. ft. This space is crafted as a collection of interconnected 'neighbourhoods' instead of a traditional waiting area. The studio sought to move away from the typical, uniform look of airport lounges by establishing distinct zones that evoke different atmospheres—some being quiet and intimate, while others are lively and social. Through the use of mood boards, sensory elements, and spatial narratives, the lounge invites exploration. The design embodies 'Indian-ness' not through overt symbols but through intricate textures and environments, creating a modern yet contextually relevant space. Design Stack also managed user journey strategies, spatial concepts, nomenclature, and visual identity to ensure a cohesive and adaptable design.
