Design in Metamorphosis: Audrey Large and Théophile Blandet at CAC Geneva
The Centre d'Art Contemporain in Geneva presents 'Design in Metamorphosis,' curated by Barbara Brondi and Marco Rainò, featuring French artist-designers Audrey Large (b. 1994, Bordeaux) and Théophile Blandet (b. 1993, Strasbourg), both graduates of the Design Academy Eindhoven. The exhibition occupies the third floor, with each artist having a monographic room and two shared spaces. Large's works, such as 'Meta (Tower) Shelve #1' (2020) and 'Cosmic Strings (Low Table)' (2022), use FDM 3D printing to create alien, baroque objects that blend digital and physical realms, with iridescent surfaces evoking marine geology. Blandet's pieces, including 'Pole (Shelve)' (2022), feature angular, totemic forms in resin and steel, with rough textures and anatomical allusions. Together they created 'Abstract Strategy (Chess Game)' (2019) and 'Up, Charm, Top, Down, Strange, Bottom' (2022), a chandelier. The show runs until August 13, 2023.
