Design Exhibitions to Watch in 2024: From Mendini to Barbie
In 2024, several significant design exhibitions are scheduled. Triennale Milano will host 'Io sono un Drago. La vera storia di Alessandro Mendini' from April 13 to October 13, curated by Fulvio Irace, featuring an installation by Philippe Starck. A retrospective on Gae Aulenti, curated by Giovanni Agosti, will take place from May to October. The ADI Design Museum's 'Carissimo Pinocchio' runs until February 4 and showcases 31 designers. Celebrating Barbie®'s 65th anniversary, the London Design Museum will present 'Barbie®: The Exhibition' starting July 5. Additionally, Vitra Design Museum's 'Transform! Designing the Future of Energy' (March 23–September 1) includes works by Charles and Ray Eames, while MoMA's 'Crafting Modernity' (March 8–September 22) highlights Latin American design. Mudac's 'Prepper’s Pantry' opens September 13, and CID Grand-Hornu's 'Superpower Design' runs from March 24 to August 25.
