Design Days Dubai 2017: Arabian Design Takes Center Stage

The sixth edition of Design Days Dubai (DDD), the Gulf's only fair dedicated to collectible design, is set to take place at the Dubai Design District. Over 50 exhibitors will participate, with Arab designers now forming the absolute majority, a shift from the first edition where they were a minority. The fair features design pieces ranging from $500 to $75,000, available for direct purchase. Side events include talks and debates with Italian designer Fabio Novembre, a showcase of British design supported by the UK/UAE Year of Creative Collaboration, and focuses on emerging talents and social design. Notable designers to watch include Aljoud Lootah, Aisha Al Sowaidi, Bee'ha, and Dahr Design. The event highlights the evolving taste of GCC collectors, moving away from opulent stereotypes toward quality and originality.
