Design Cucina: Instagram Project Shares Designers' Quarantine Recipes

Curators Maria Cristina Didero and Libby Sellers launched Design Cucina, an Instagram project inviting designers to share recipes and food stories during the COVID-19 quarantine. The initiative features daily posts with photos, videos, or illustrations from international designers like Sabine Marcelis, Studio Formafantasma, Erez Nevi Pana, and Raffaella Guidobono. Participants reinterpret traditional dishes: Studio Dossofiorito reimagined frisella with Finnish varrasleipä, while Okolo 3D-printed a plate inspired by Curzio Malaparte's Capri villa for minestrone alla genovese. Rive Roshan prepared Kookoo-Sabzi with Iranian roots, and Kiki & Joost made garden snacks. Writer Alice Rawsthorn focused on Arne Jacobsen's soup spoon for SAS Royal Hotel. The project builds on Didero and Sellers' prior collaboration, London Christmas Presence, which used design to raise funds for homeless people.
