Depeche Mode Documentary 'M' Hits Theaters Worldwide in October

A new documentary titled 'Depeche Mode: M' will be released in theaters globally from October 28 to 30, 2025, distributed by Nexo Studios. Directed by Fernando Frías, known for 'I'm No Longer Here', the film captures the band's three sold-out concerts at Foro Sol Stadium in Mexico City during their 2023 Memento Mori World Tour. The documentary premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival on June 5, 2025, and is shot in 4K for IMAX screenings. It interweaves the three shows, highlighting the passion of approximately 200,000 Mexican fans. The film explores the thematic connection between the album 'Memento Mori'—the band's fifteenth studio album, conceived after the death of keyboardist Andy Fletcher—and Mexican folklore, where death is celebrated through symbols like calaveras and the cult of Santa Muerte. This marks the band's second cinematic project following 'Depeche Mode: Spirits in the Forest' six years earlier.
