Deodato Arte Opens in L'Aquila with Mr. Savethewall Performance

exhibition · 2026-05-25

Deodato Arte, a gallery specializing in Pop and Street Art, has inaugurated a new space in L'Aquila at Via Marrelli 8, in collaboration with Art Director Laura Dramisino. The opening coincides with L'Aquila's designation as Italian Capital of Culture 2026. The gallery launched with a live performance by Mr. Savethewall, alias Pierpaolo Perretta from Como, known for his 'Post Street Art' style that combines urban, pop, and ironic elements while respecting public spaces by using removable tape. In an interview, Mr. Savethewall cited Banksy as his initial inspiration, leading him to create street art at night while working an office job. His alter ego is a frog, symbolizing transition and forward movement. He praised L'Aquila's light, reconstruction, and the blend of before and after visible in the city.
