Denis Curti Returns to Direct SI FEST 2019 in Savignano sul Rubicone

Denis Curti returns as artistic director of SI FEST, Italy's longest-running photography festival, after a thirteen-year hiatus. The 28th edition, themed 'Seduzioni. Fascinazione e Mistero', runs from September 13–15, 2019, with additional weekends on September 21–22 and 28–29 in Savignano sul Rubicone. The festival was founded in 1992 by the Circolo Fotografico di Savignano in collaboration with Lanfranco Colombo, then director of Galleria il Diaframma-Kodak Cultura in Milan. Curti, previously artistic director from 2001 to 2006, is now a prominent curator, founder of STILL gallery in Milan, artistic director of Casa dei Tre Oci in Venice, and former head of Contrasto agency in Milan. He drew inspiration from Jean Baudrillard's book 'Della Seduzione', inviting photographers who explore seduction beyond male-female dynamics, including Marco Craig with sports icons, Lady Tarin on eroticism, and Guido Harari with an intimate reportage on singer-songwriter Fabrizio De André. The festival also features SI FEST OFF, its independent section for photography and visual arts, now celebrating its 10th anniversary. Curated by Tomas Maggioli and promoted by Associazione Cultura e Immagine, SI FEST OFF will award three photographers with special mentions, publication in a specialized magazine, and exhibition circulation in partner festivals.
