Demi Moore and Chloé Zhao join Cannes 2026 jury

The 79th Cannes Film Festival jury, led by South Korean director Park Chan-wook, includes Hollywood star Demi Moore, Oscar-winning Chinese director Chloé Zhao, Swedish actor Stellan Skarsgård, screenwriter Paul Laverty, Ivorian-American actor Isaach de Bankolé, Belgian filmmaker Laura Wandel, Chilean director Diego Céspedes, and Irish-Ethiopian producer Ruth Negga. The nine-member jury will select the Palme d'Or from 22 competing films and award other prizes. The festival begins May 12, 2026. In 2025, the Palme d'Or went to Jafar Panahi's "A Simple Accident." Demi Moore returns to Cannes after her 2024 appearance in Coralie Fargeat's "The Substance," which won Best Screenplay. Chloé Zhao, who won Oscars for "Nomadland" (2021), also directed "Eternals" (2021) and "Hamnet" (2025). Paul Laverty has written two Palme d'Or winners for Ken Loach: "The Wind That Sweeps Away" (2006) and "I, Daniel Blake" (2016). Diego Céspedes won the Un Certain Regard prize in 2025 for his debut "The Mysterious Gaze of the Pink Flamingo." The 2025 jury was chaired by Juliette Binoche.
