Delvaux Launches 'Craft Beyond Borders' in Kanazawa, Japan

Delvaux, the esteemed Belgian luxury leather brand, has introduced 'Craft Beyond Borders' in Kanazawa, Japan. This initiative fosters collaboration between its leather artisans and local craftsmen renowned for gold leaf and obi weaving. Established in 1829 by Charles Delvaux in Brussels, the maison holds the title of the oldest fine leather goods house globally and has served the Royal Court of Belgium since 1883. The focus of this project is to grasp the essence of Japanese craftsmanship—emphasizing precision, patience, and process—and to incorporate these values into leather creations. A notable result is a limited edition of four Tempête bags, showcasing leather marquetry that contrasts matte alligator with calfskin. The initiative will expand with additional artisan exchanges worldwide.
