Delta Millworks Opens Eco-Conscious Campus in Wimberley, Texas

Delta Millworks, a manufacturer based in Austin that specializes in sustainably sourced wood products, has inaugurated a new headquarters and production facility spanning 88,000 square feet in Wimberley, Texas. The campus, designed by Pollen Architecture & Design with ecological guidance from Blackland Collaborative, occupies a 33-acre area with less than 20 percent impervious cover. Its features include a sawtooth roof for natural lighting, three rainwater harvesting cisterns with a total capacity exceeding 180,000 gallons, and the preservation of native prairie and mature live oaks. Given its location in a sensitive Hill Country watershed underlain by karst limestone, effective water management is essential to mitigate drought and flash flooding. Delta anticipates tripling its production capacity, generating 117 construction jobs and over 50 permanent manufacturing positions within seven years. The community has positively embraced the campus as a model for environmentally responsible industrial development amid growth pressures in Wimberley and Dripping Springs near Jacob's Well.
