Delmoro's music video revives Marcello D'Olivo's Villa Mainardis
Musician Delmoro, born Mattia Del Moro in Tolmezzo (UD) in 1985 and a graduate of Iuav in Venice, shot the video for his latest single "Dove siamo finiti" inside Villa Mainardis in Lignano Pineta. The villa was designed by architect Marcello D'Olivo (Udine, 1921), who in 1953 created the spiral master plan for Lignano Pineta, a project that made him a key figure of APAO, the Association for Organic Architecture founded by Bruno Zevi in 1944. D'Olivo also designed Villa Spezzotti and other seaside residences with concave and convex forms inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright's later Usonian Houses, notably Jacobs House II. The video was directed by Bruno Noaro. Delmoro, who spent childhood summers in Lignano, expressed appreciation for the architectural quality of the villa, calling it "a true jewel of postwar Italian architecture" and noting that during his studies at Iuav he encountered snobbery toward Italian organic architecture.
