Delfina Entrecanales's Foundation Expands Global Artist Residencies from London Base
Delfina Entrecanales established the Delfina Foundation in 2007, creating a London-based residency program for artists and curators worldwide with special emphasis on Latin America and the MENASA region. Previously, from the late 1980s to early 2000s, she co-managed the Delfina Studio Trust with her then-husband Digby Squires, offering studios to British artists and running an international residency. After their separation, Squires retained the studios, and Entrecanales's philanthropic activities paused until a 2007 trip to Syria reignited her commitment. The foundation now collaborates with institutions across Brazil, Indonesia, India, Bangladesh, the UAE, and Mexico. Current residents include a curator and artists from Mumbai, Istanbul, Berlin, Amman, and São Paulo, reflecting its global reach. Entrecanales works alongside foundation director Aaron Cezar to build these international partnerships.
