Degree Shows: How Design Schools Are Showcasing Student Talent
Degree shows have transformed into professional exhibitions, inspired by fashion school graduations. Recently, the Royal College of Art in London showcased the work of more than 700 students during its annual event, which took place over a week at locations including Kensington, Battersea, and Vauxhall. The graduation show at Design Academy Eindhoven, featuring over 197 projects, is part of Dutch Design Week, set for October 21-29. Additionally, Dubai Design Week will host a Global Grad Show with participation from 50 institutions across more than 30 countries. In Milan, Istituto Marangoni's Degree Show at Superstudio's Lounge highlighted twelve standout projects, including Natalia Suárez López's interactive Celllia Lamp and Giorgia Baroni's Performing Illusions, recognized by a panel of faculty and industry experts.
