Decospan launches Shinnoki Terra Sapele wood veneer panels with six-layer varnish finish

architecture-design · 2026-04-20

Decospan, a Belgian company, has unveiled its Shinnoki Terra Sapele panels, which are prefinished wood veneer surfaces that replicate the appearance of genuine sapele wood while providing superior durability. These panels are coated with six layers of varnish, resulting in a matte, scratch-resistant finish that minimizes glare and wear. Ann-Marie Debaveye, the product manager, states that this innovation merges traditional craftsmanship with contemporary performance, allowing architects to use real wood in extensive projects without the unpredictability of raw veneers. The design features rich mahogany hues and avoids the repetitive grain patterns often seen in book-matching. These panels, measuring 2790 by 1240 by 19 millimeters, have been used in projects like RR Interieur's Kalvekeetdijk residence. Terra Sapele is available in 18 styles, with laminates sized at 3050 by 1220 by 1 millimeter. Photography for this product is attributed to Cafeine, and its launch is part of Dezeen Showroom, a collaborative platform for brands to present new offerings.
