December Art Highlights: From Queer Bollywood Posters in Sydney to Kochi Biennale's Ink and Fire

Sydney's 4A Centre for Contemporary Asian Art hosts TextaQueen's Bollywouldn't exhibition through December 18, featuring felt-tip drawings that reimagine Bollywood posters with queer and trans South Asian portraits. The project began during a 2018–19 residency at ACME studios in London and includes collaborative performances. In Buenos Aires, Proa21 presents Luiz Roque's solo show through December 30, featuring two short films including Urubu (2021) and XXI that explore queer bioethics and transhumanism. Melbourne's NGV International presents Alexander McQueen: Mind, Mythos, Muse from December 11 through April 16, 2023, featuring over 100 garments alongside historical artworks. The Kochi-Muziris Biennale runs December 12 through April 4, 2023, in Fort Kochi, directed by Singaporean artist Shubigi Rao and featuring artists including Amar Kanwar and Lawrence Lek.
