December Art Highlights: From Queer Bollywood Posters in Sydney to Kochi Biennale's Ink and Fire
Sydney's 4A Centre for Contemporary Asian Art hosts TextaQueen's Bollywouldn't exhibition through December 18, featuring felt-tip drawings that reimagine Bollywood posters with queer and trans South Asian portraits. The project began during a 2018–19 residency at ACME studios in London and includes collaborative performances. Melbourne's NGV International presents Alexander McQueen: Mind, Mythos, Muse from December 11 through April 16, 2023, featuring over 100 garments alongside historical artworks. The Kochi-Muziris Biennale runs December 12 through April 4, 2023, in Fort Kochi, directed by Singaporean artist Shubigi Rao and featuring artists including Amar Kanwar and Lawrence Lek.
